Yesterday was a fun filled (although tiring) day spent in the studio with two lovely young women, Diana and Jessica who came in for their model makeover shoots. They were our first official clients for the new studio so it was fantastic to really give the space a workout, shooting with both natural daylight and studio flash for both girls.
Jessalee did an amazing job (as usual) transforming both girls with a gorgeous makeover which really made their natural beauty shine. Neither of the girls had ever done a proper shoot before but by looking at their photos, you may be forgiven to think they were seasoned models.
We really love the photos from our first official The Model Experience studio shoot and we hope the girls do too because we really want them to come back again!
The Model Experience is pleased to announce our new studio, conveniently located only 15min from the Brisbane CBD and only 5min from the Gateway Motorway in the suburb of Camp Hill. We will be sharing the studio with Foto Frenzy - Brisbane’s Leading Photography Course and Workshop Company, where our lead photographer Cam Attree is a director and tutor. A big thanks must go to the previous owner of the studio, Sara Pearcy for making the transition so seamless 
STUDIO
As a portrait and fashion studio, we have a range of backdrops suitable for a variety of looks and styles and capability to comfortably shoot full length. It’s a great space for shooting both available light and with professional studio lighting equipment. The studio is air-conditioned so we can comfortably shoot day or not, all year round.
OPENING HOURS
The Model Experience studio will be staffed as required and as a lot of our shoots also happen on location, we may not be there so please call ahead to make an appointment if you need to visit.

Inbound: from Old Cleveland Rd, turn left into either Princess or Tarana Sts, then street park and walk up the hill to Old Cleveland Rd.
Outbound: from Old Cleveland Rd, turn right at the lights into Boundary St, then right again into Albert St and right again into either Princess or Tarana Sts, then street park and walk up the hill to Old Cleveland Rd.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Old Cleveland Road is a very busy bus route. Inbound BCC Buses stop virtually at our door, and outbound buses stop across the road.
Inbound it’s the stop after Princess Street, Camp Hill. Bus Stop Camp Hill 30.
Outbound it’s the stop after Pampling Street. Bus Stop Camp Hill 30.
If you’re up for a stroll, we are approximately 2km from Coorparoo Railway Station.
Our first shoot of 2012 was with the very beautiful Gemma. Gemma was raised in Brisbane but has been living and working as a cabaret dancer in London for the last 3 years. Even though she is trained in classical ballet, it’s been around 7 years since she last had her pointe shoes on and it was a real privilege to be the first photographer to capture her beautiful form in this way.
This also happened to be the first shoot in our new studio so it was great fun trying out the different areas and playing with the wonderful natural light that spills in the front windows.
Here’s a selection of the ballet images of Gemma from our very first shoot together which I’m sure won’t be the last.
2012 is going to be a huge year at The Model Experience. We have almost finalised our new premises and are really looking forward to kick starting the year with some great photo shoots. But, before we get too far ahead, let’s just have a look back over 2011 as we share some of our favourite model portfolio and fashion images from the year.
A big thanks goes out to all the girls along with the makeup artists and stylists who worked their magic on them – far too many to mention individually!

The week before Christmas I had the pleasure of being invited to do a shoot with the current Miss Burlesque Australia – Miss Sina King. I only had two days notice so I had to call in some favours to find a location to shoot. Luckily I was able to arrange The Tivoli Theatre for a few hours in the middle of the day so after arranging the lovely Fiona Day to do hair and makeup and getting my good friend Mark Schoeman to agree to come and assist me (which wasn’t very difficult), we were all set for the shoot.
After hair and makeup was completed, we only had about 2 hours left to shoot so we kept the lighting to a minimum to help us move around quickly and to minimise our impact on The Tivoli as they were setting up for the nights event. Working with Sina was an absolute pleasure and the day was topped off by seeing her perform that night at the Hi Fi bar in West End.
On stage is where Sina really shines and I thoroughly enjoyed her burlesque routines at VIXEN – A Burlesque Christmas Party. If you ever get the chance to see her perform, I highly recommend it!!

The Model Experience
2012 is going to be a big year for The Model Experience. Brisbane photographer Cam Attree is working extremely hard to get this amazing business up and running and it’s looking very exciting so far. Once the premises are organised and the studio is up and running we will be offering some great incentives to come along and become one of our first customers.
Cam has had over 20 years experience in the photographic industry and his skills as a photographer are internationally admired. Having your photograph taken by Cam is genuinely a fantastic experience and you will absolutely love the results.
